Early Responder Training

Early Responders offer the ministry of United Methodist Christian presence at the homes and churches of disaster victims.  They provide immediate assistance to older or disabled persons who do not have their family or support system nearby to help them.  They sweep, mop, and make temporary repairs to make a home or church safe, sanitary and secure.  They comfort and reassure victims that the church is there and God still cares about them.  They assist the victim in dealing with destruction and documenting damages. Because of Hurricane Ike, there has been damage to more than 200 United Methodist structures!  YOU CANNOT REPRESENT THE TEXAS ANNUAL CONFERENCE IF YOU ARE NOT TRAINED AND CREDENTIALED.   If you can handle a broom or a mop, we need you! But first you must be trained.  Watch your email, newsletter and website for the next training date or contact Rev. Clay Whitaker at claytonwhitaker@sbcglobal.net or 281-452-2861.
