Christ UMC College Station Completes New Sanctuary!

The new 1100 seat capacity sanctuary for Christ United Methodist Church in College Station, Texas is complete.  According to Rev. Jerry House, Jr. Senior pastor, the congregation held its opening day worship service on Palm Sunday with an overflowing crowd of 1723.  A later date is planned for Bishop Janice Riggle Huie of the Texas Conference to come and consecrate the new worship facility.  Christ UMC was started 12 years ago by the old Bryan District with the help of A&M UMC.  Today, Christ is the largest congregation with a membership of over 2300 and worship attendance of over 1100.  The second largest congregation in the district is A&M UMC.
